Process Engineer

Pinnacle Polymers, LLC, a privately owned polypropylene manufacturing facility located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, is seeking a qualified candidate for a Process Engineer position.


  1. Provides technical and engineering leadership in assigned area to achieve business objectives.
  2. Provides daily engineering support to Operations.
    1. Monitors process quality and process control.
    2. Assists in troubleshooting of process upsets and process control problems.
    3. Identifies root cause of process upsets and develops corrective actions.
    4. Drives safety leadership in the area of responsibility.
    5. Leads incident investigations into safety and quality incidents.
    6. Provides weekend coverage rotation for the plant.
  3. Analyzes process performance vs business needs to identify optimization projects and programs.
  4. Implements plant and process design projects with Management and Operations involvement:
    1. Develops scope.
    2. Develops process design.
    3. Provides project management:
      1. Participates in budget preparation and cost estimates.
      2. Specifies and orders materials.
      3. Develops project schedule.
      4. Manages contractor / maintenance installation.
      5. Issues SOPs and conduct training.
      6. Leads start-up.


  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Experience in manufacturing of polypropylene or polyethylene preferred.
  • Experience in UNIPOL process preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in all situations, both written and oral, with the ability to present information to groups of people.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance.
  • Solid mathematical background.
  • Ability to solve problems and have sound reasoning and judgment.
  • Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant engineering tools.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
