Instrument & Electrical Technician

Pinnacle Polymers, LLC, a privately owned polypropylene manufacturing facility located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, is seeking a qualified candidate for an Instrument & Electrical Technician position.


  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage electrical circuits and controls.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain 480V and 4160V 3-phase induction motors and motor controls.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain variable frequency drives, and DC Drives.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical distribution systems.
  • Maintain UPS systems and batteries.
  • Utilize and maintain Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS, Triconex Safety Manager, and Allen Bradley PLC’s.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation controls and process analyzers.
  • Other duties as needed.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical and instrumentation experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution, low and medium voltage electrical circuits, variable speed drives, electric motors and motor controls.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Distributed Control Systems and PLC’s.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation including, but not limited to, smart transmitters, micro motion meters, control valves, nuclear level, guided wave, and process analyzers.
  • Must have ability to read electrical drawings, logic diagrams, instrument loop sheets and P&ID’s.
  • Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Must be willing and able to work at various elevations and positions.
  • Must be familiar with and be able to wear proper PPE including Arc Flash Protective Equipment.
  • Must have working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
